Weardrobe (“the App”) is developed by solofam (“we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Sign-in is required to use the App. We support sign-in with Google and Apple accounts (availability may vary depending on device and platform).
The App is designed to work offline. Your wardrobe entries and photos are stored locally on your device so you can use the App without an internet connection. When you are online, the App syncs and backs up your data to the cloud using Firebase to help restore your data if you reinstall the App or change phones.
Cloud sync/backup depends on network connectivity and third-party services (such as Google Firebase). We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of cloud services. Your local device copy is the primary copy while the App is installed on that device.
Cloud backup is provided as a convenience and is not a guaranteed archival service.
We may share information only in these cases:
The free app may display Google AdMob ads. Google's advertising services may process device or advertising identifiers, IP address, ad interactions, and diagnostic information according to your device settings, applicable consent choices, and their policies. We do not send your private clothing photos or outfit records to AdMob as ad-targeting inputs. Read how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
On iPhone and iPad, Apple’s tracking permission controls whether AdMob may use the advertising identifier for advertising across other companies’ apps and websites. The app waits for this choice before initializing ads. If permission is denied or restricted, it requests non-personalized ads and disables AdMob’s publisher first-party identifier. GDPR/UMP consent remains a separate requirement. You can change tracking permission in iOS Settings; previously loaded ads are discarded when that decision changes. Declining does not prevent using Weardrobe.
Where required, the app presents advertising privacy choices before requesting ads and provides a privacy-options entry in Settings. You can also manage advertising permissions in your device settings. An active, verified annual Premium subscription or a valid previous lifetime ad-removal purchase disables all ads and rewarded-ad prompts in the app. Rewarded ads are optional; the described reward is delivered after the ad-completion event.
Story and square image sharing creates an image on your device from the outfits you select, with your chosen caption. This does not upload the image to our cloud or fetch your wardrobe photos again. The app you choose in your device's share sheet receives the image, caption and app-discovery link; its own privacy practices apply. Recipients may save or forward the image.
Style Studio lets signed-in users ask friends to choose between two to five selected looks. You choose when to create and share a comparison. The app prepares small outfit previews locally and sends those previews, your question and labels to our authenticated Firebase backend. Preview images are held in private Firestore records and cached on participants’ devices; Style Studio voting does not upload or download previews through Firebase Cloud Storage. This is separate from the Cloud Storage used for your ordinary wardrobe backup.
People who receive or are forwarded a complete invitation must sign in to Weardrobe to view the comparison and vote. The service uses account identifiers to manage comparison ownership, invitation access, one vote per account and vote changes. The creator’s account identifier is included in comparison metadata sent to invited participants; email addresses and unselected wardrobe content are not included. Invitations should be kept private, and recipients can still save or forward images or screenshots.
For comparisons that support voter names, sharing your sign-in display name alongside your vote is ON by default unless you have previously chosen to hide it. You can turn name sharing off before voting or hide your name after voting; your vote still counts. The app remembers your choice for future votes for your Weardrobe account on that device until you change it. Opening an existing vote keeps that vote’s saved visibility. Shared names and choices can be seen by the creator and eligible invited participants; your email address and account photo are not included in the voter-name list.
Current Style Studio comparisons expire after 72 hours. The creator can close voting or delete a comparison earlier. Expired or deleted comparisons become unavailable; previews, votes, shared names and invitation-membership records are removed by bounded cleanup jobs, which may finish after access expires. Limited comparison-deletion metadata, request-deduplication and usage records may remain for reliability and abuse prevention. Expiration or deletion cannot erase copies saved by recipients.
Older “Help me choose” polls remain supported for existing links. When you create one of these legacy polls, the two selected outfit images and labels become accessible to anyone with the link. Your account email, account identifier, and the rest of your wardrobe are not included in the public poll response. Links can be forwarded and viewers can save screenshots. Poll links expire after seven days; you can withdraw a poll using its removal control. Expiration or removal cannot erase copies already saved by recipients.
The legacy web voting page stores a random browser identifier locally to prevent repeat votes from that browser. Our backend stores a derived vote identifier and vote choice, and short-lived hashed network-address rate-limit records to reduce abuse. Polls and vote/rate records are scheduled for automatic backend cleanup after their expiry; cleanup may occur later than the link's expiry. No advertising SDK runs on the voting page.
Weather is optional. After the welcome tour, the app can estimate your area from your internet connection using GeoJS. This request shares your connection's IP address with GeoJS and its network providers; it does not include your account ID or wardrobe content. Weardrobe keeps only the area name and rounded coordinates on your device, not the returned IP address or internet-provider details. This estimate can be inaccurate on mobile networks or VPNs. Choose Use my location for a better match (with permission), enter a town, or turn weather off. On supported Android phones, choosing device location can show the system dialog to enable Location Services. No background location tracking is used. Coordinates are rounded to two decimal places before forecasts are requested, and are not saved to your Firebase profile. Your operating-system geocoding service translates towns or approximate coordinates, including naming an internet-based estimate when no city is supplied. If a town name is unavailable, the app labels the estimate with its region or country. Forecasts come directly from MET Norway, which receives the rounded coordinates and your connection's IP address. The automatic area estimate is cached for a day and forecasts are cached locally; failures back off before retrying. Turning weather off removes local weather data and stops automatic lookups. Forecast data are provided under CC BY 4.0. Older app versions may use permission-based location only or our cached city-forecast backend.
Outfit reminders are optional and scheduled on your device. You can change their time or disable them in the app or device notification settings. Reminder content may be visible on your lock screen depending on your device settings.
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The App is not directed to children under 13 years old. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” above shows the latest revision.
